Scientifically, formic acid and oxalic acid are organic acids that act as a "caustic effect" on the particular structure of the varroa, degrading it and progressively inducing its destruction: low environmental impact, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness
are the aspects that make them successful.
How to carry out the treatment
1) Connect the clamps to the battery, respecting polarity (red+, black -). Treatment can be carried out after about 1 minute.
2) Using the dispenser, pour 2.5 g of oxalic acid for 10-frame hives, halving the dose for 6-frame hives.
3) On average after 1 minute and a half you can switch to another hive; it is recommended not to switch off the machine during the series of treatments.
4) Only switch off the BioletalVarroa® at the end of the uninterrupted series of treatments, to avoid overheating the bowl and unnecessary energy consumption.
5) For ease of use, less disturbance to the bees and better protection for the beekeeper, we recommend making a hole (45x12mm) at the back of the hive, close to the bottom net, and carry out the treatment from there, taking care to close the entrance/exit
of the bees from the step for about 5 minutes. After treatment, this opening can be closed with a simple sheet of metal.
6) To treat the bee entrance/exit of the step, it is advisable to use a wooden batten or a cloth.
